current campus update

november 23, 2020

dear faculty and staff:

first, thank you for your diligence, flexibility and hard work this semester. your examples of adherence to the racer safe and healthy guidelines, particularly wearing a face mask or face covering, has been a huge help to our entire racer community this semester in keeping everyone as safe and healthy as possible.

the campus remains open and fully operational and work should continue as normal; however, some of your work will be handled remotely as directed by your immediate supervisor or vice president/president. also, i want to add that the important work of recruiting students, admissions, campus tours, etc. will continue during the holiday breaks and other offices may be asked to assist in these areas in the coming days. here is our fiscal year 2020-21 holiday calendar: 2020-21 holiday calendar.

finally, i wanted to share a few updates of which you should be mindful and to keep our campus community safe and healthy as we move forward:

  3. msu health services/primary care will be closed on campus from 11/21/20 – 1/18/21. however, telemedicine options and the main office location on south 12th street will still be available to faculty, staff and students. their campus phone number (270-809-3809) will be forwarded to the main office location. they will also still be checking their email throughout this period (msu.healthservices@murraystate.edu).

  4. racer safe and healthy checklist
  5. next month is shortened for us with the holiday break and for that reason msu will not be requiring you to complete the racer safe and healthy checklist for the month of december.

however, it is very important that you continue to practice safe and healthy practices throughout the thanksgiving holiday and when we return to campus.  we must all continue to adhere to our racer safe and healthy guidelines, including, but not limited to, wearing a face mask, practicing social distancing and if you are sick, immediately see your medical provider and stay home.

it is also critical that you complete the racer safe and healthy checklist by january 4, 2021, prior to returning to campus for the spring semester.  your health, safety and well-being is paramount in all of our decisions as we maintain a safe and healthy campus environment.
